Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.
The arrests come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was one of the injured in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
Officers arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault near the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were called at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.
The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
